You Are Not Alone (YANA)

SWT Alumni Macedonia, the Youth Council of the US Embassy in Macedonia and Studiorium, supported by the US Embassy in Macedonia, will organize the first humanitarian action part of the project You Are Not Alone (YANA). On 7th September (Saturday) on 3 locations at the same time, Berovo, Strumica and Kavadarci, group of volunteers from our organizations will spend a day with the kids from the small childrens homes in Berovo and Kavadarci, and the children with special needs in Strumica.

The goal of the action is to mark 9/11, Day of Service and Remembrance, the day that the american presitent Barack Obama called the youth from the whole world to help those that need it the most in any form.

In Berovo, our volunteers will have a task to beautify the garden of the Childrens home, and together with the kids to install a wooden fence. In Kavadarci, the kids will have the opportunity, together with our volunteers, to beautify their rooms, and in the afternoon, in collaboration with the festival of creative documentary “MakeDox”, they will watch thematic documentary film followed by a short moderated discussion. From 12 to 14h on the main square in Strumica, 20 children with special needs will have the opportunity to show their creativity through drawings on the subject “In my world”. During the event, the accidental passers can donate money and other things by which the organization “Message”, partner organization of this project, can supply technical equipment for the day center in Strumica. The drawn artworks will be offered to the Macedonian companies who would like to support this initiative.

It is our honor to invite you to participate in this event by attending, donating, sharing the news or any way possible. It is of a big importance to gain visibility for such a noble action.
